Multan Customs introduces forensic testing for seized vehicle auctions

The Federal Board of Revenue has made a significant change in the auction process of the seized vehicles. According to the new rule, all the vehicles that are seized by customs have to undergo forensic testing before they can be auctioned.

According to the Statutory Regulatory Order 1964, these vehicles will be checked from, a certified forensic laboratory. In other words, their technical conditions are to be confirmed and confirmed as being sold within the law so that they could be sold through auction.

The new rule has been designed so that all prospective buyers are adequately informed about the vehicle’s status and legal aspects. This ensures that there would be no litigation issues after a purchase. and will make the procedure of an auction clearer and much more secure.

This means that the vehicles that were imported through ports are exempted from forensic testing. Moreover, if a vehicle is already expired, then there is no requirement of forensic tests on it as well.

According to the FBR, the forensic. testing should be conducted at a recognized and certified forensic laboratory. Through this, the cars are extensively examined for all legal and technical issues, thus giving the buyer reassurance that their cars are in good condition.

This new policy will help bring a sense of transparency and reliability to the process of a vehicle auction. The FBR intended for this purpose by ensuring all vehicles put up for auction are properly checked and brought into proper legal compliance before selling them.

Experts state that this step will not only make the auction system more efficient but also increase the amount of revenue the government generates. Because of the steps taken to increase transparency in the system and encourage confidence in it, market conditions for seized vehicles are expected to improve and become safer for the buyer.

This will organize the entire auctioning process, making it more secure and professional. FBR’s decision to start forensic testing will ensure that buyers’ interests are guarded; therefore, their revenue will increase.
