KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the Collector of Customs Appraisement-SAPT to issue a ruling on the petition submitted by Saleem Industries, an industry producing textiles, for provisional release of goods. The court fixed four days for the ruling.

The petition was filed under Section 81 of the Customs Act 1969, and the hearing was done by Dr. Shahab Imam for Saleem Industries. In course of proceedings, the Collector SAPT appeared through Sardar Zafar Hussain and indicated that the case is identical with an earlier case, CP No D-4011/2023, in which the SHC had also ordered the Collector to decide under Section 83-B of the Customs Act 1969 by an order dated 18.08.2025.

The advocate of the petitioner did not object to this method, and the court disposed of the petition, directing the Collector to pass the order within four days.

The material in dispute are 100% Cotton Combed Compact Yarn, being utilized for the production of textile articles.
