Pakistan’s passport still ranks very lowly as shown by the latest Henley Passport Index. It is currently ranked 102. This also ranks it lower than those conflict-affected countries, such as Palestine. The strict visa conditions, security issues, and weak diplomatic relations have led Pakistani citizens into hard times of travel processes.

With the Pakistani passport, one can only go to 33 countries in the world without needing to get a visa. Such rankings exist only in the cases of Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. It has been nearly five years since the Pakistani passport takes one of the worst global positions as it falls way behind some countries such as Liberia, Somalia, or Haiti.

Contrary to that, Singapore ranks the top, granting visa-free travel to 195 destinations. Japan, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain rank the second with visa-free travel access to 192 destinations.

The Henley Passport Index combines IATA information and the research of Henley & Partners to make it clear how diplomatic influence impacts one’s ability to travel freely. The newest Global Mobility Report 2024 shows the increasing gap of travel freedom between countries.
