Pakistan Now Equipped With Second Air Ambulance Service
Privately-owned private aviation firm, Sky Wings has launched another air ambulance service for Pakistan to accompany Edhi Foundation, which launched this service before. This would prove to help accelerate the emergency transport of a patient to medical services.
It starts with a Piper Seneca aircraft stationed in Karachi. The idea is to evacuate patients from any airport in Pakistan to Karachi and ensure they receive medical attention as quickly as possible.
In addition to an air ambulance service, Sky Wings provides a trained medical team on board to handle the patients while on their way. It ensures their safety and proper treatment. The Chief Executive Officer of Sky Wings Aviation, Imran Aslam Khan, said that two more aircraft would be added in the near future to the fleet of the company. Then Sky Wings will cover the entire nation, as the patients could easily be shifted from urban or rural areas to any medical center in the country.
This service is part of larger initiatives to enhance emergency medical response in Pakistan. It will ensure that people get timely medical care regardless of their location.
In addition, Pakistan has a government-owned air ambulance service that was inaugurated in July 2022 by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The service marked its first successful transfer when it airlifted an injured woman from Mianwali to Rawalpindi.
