US Soybean Arrives in Pakistan After Two Years
KARACHI: US soybeans have finally arrived in Pakistan after over two years at Fauji Akbar Portia Marine Terminals Ltd. today.
Over the next few months, 265,000 tonnes of US soybeans will be imported into the country. This will benefit poultry farmers by providing them with better-quality feed. Farmers will get better feed conversion ratios and more profits with better feed.
Zain Mahmood, Chairman of the All-Pakistan Solvent Extractors Association said, “Now we will produce soybean meal and oil locally instead of importing. This will strengthen Pakistan’s economy and ensure feed supply.”
The arrival of US soybeans is a big step forward for Pakistan’s agriculture and poultry industry.
