Supreme Court Introduces New E-Filing System for Court Documents
In a significant step to update Pakistan’s judicial system, the Supreme Court has implemented an E-Filing System. The system will be applicable in all Supreme Court offices in Pakistan, including the headquarters in Islamabad and branch offices in Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta.

This new e-system enables attorneys to file legal documents such as petitions, court orders, judgments, and memos electronically. These papers will be readily accessible through the Supreme Court’s Case Management System (CMS). Besides, automated email reminders will be delivered to all stakeholders concerned. This will minimize paperwork, delays, and the cost of legal processes.

In order to access the system, all Supreme Court Advocates (ASCs) and all Advocates-on-Record (AORs) are required to register with the CMS. The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) have been requested to update their databases with the mobile numbers and email addresses of all registered advocates.

Government ministries have also been requested to appoint contact points to assist with the process of e-filing. They are the Attorney General’s Office, Cabinet Division, Provincial Advocates General, Prosecutors General, and Chief Secretaries.

In case of any technical issues, lawyers and other stakeholders may get in touch with Malik Sohail Ahmad, Senior Deputy Director (Software). Assistance can also be accessed by calling the e-filing helpline on 0307-5555645 or 051-9219255. For email assistance, users may contact ecourt@scp.gov.pk.

This online reform, spearheaded by the Honourable Chief Justice, is intended to enhance Pakistan’s judiciary’s efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. It’s all part of the attempt to modernize legal services and make them more user-friendly for all concerned.
