Pakistan’s Textile Exports Rise 3.99% to $6.39 Billion in the First Four Months of FY 2025-26

Within the first four months of fiscal year 2025-26, Pakistan’s textile exports saw positive growth of 3.99%, reaching $6.39 billion. It was higher compared to $6.14 billion in the same period during the previous year.

Key sectors that helped push up this growth were: cotton yarn, which rose an impressive 7.74% to $238.9 million; raw cotton exports increased 100% to $2.6 million from zero a year ago; other textile items such as knitwear, bed wear and yarn excluding cotton also showed encouraging increases. Knitwear went up 8.23% to $1.90 billion, while bed wear was up 6.94% to $1.14 billion.

The other notable increases were recorded in the export of tents, canvas, and tarpaulins, which witnessed a 32.34% increase, while ready-made garments grew 5.11% to $1.43 billion. The export of made-up articles excluding towels and bedwear increased by 4.17% and reached $274.75 million.

However, not all segments performed positively. Exports of cotton cloth fell by 12.75%, sliding down to $592.80 million from $679.43 million. Other items such as towels and silk textiles also showed slight losses.

Looking at month-on-month figures, textile exports in October 2025 increased by 2.78% compared to September 2025, reaching $1.62 billion. However, October 2025 showed a small year-on-year decline of 0.57% when compared with the October 2024 figure of $1.63 billion.

Overall, the increase in Pakistani textile exports bodes well for the industry, as a number of key sectors performed well, while there are some challenges.
