they will nail you more than $500 if you talk to Customs agents directly. If you have a broker involved, they will charge you a lot more than $500. e.g., this guy in ISB airport quoted me $800 on a used 50″ Samsung tv. When I went up directly to customs, they charged my $100. The agent was pashtun, I am pashtun. He did me a racial favor that he charged me at a rate of 32″ tv over 50″.

My advice is do not bring anything into Pakistan unless you are super rich. I would buy electronics in Blue Area with warranty, or a cheaper price in Karkhano market, Peshawer.

I imported a 50″ Samsung tv into Pakistan from USA in October 2023 via ISB. I had bought the TV in 2017 and brought it to Pakistan (for our hujra). The customs charged me $100 equivalent in PKR, i.e. Rs. 28,000. They insisted on USD but I told them I did not have any. They made an invoice that looks bogus but I guess that’s how it is in Pak. After a lot of negotiation, they taxed it at the rate of a 32″ tv. Of course, 50″ tv was at higher rate (more than the tv price). The bank cashier was sleeping. They woke him up. I paid 28K for a used 50″ tv.
