Custom Appellate Tribunal Orders Stoppage of Storing Goods in Islam Sons Warehouse

LAHORE: The Chairman of the Customs Appellate Tribunal issued an order of stopping. the in-bonding of goods from being stored in the Islam Sons Warehouse. He issued this order following the hearing on Custom Appeal No K-83 of 2025 filed by Shafiq ur Rahman as the Appellant, challenging the revalidation of the Customs Public Bonded Warehouse License No PWL 06/2021.

The tribunal held that in-bonding at the warehouse must stop for one month. The warehouse is located at an area where urban flooding easily occurs and beneath the road level; hence, in violation of Section 115 of the Customs Act 1969.

The Appellant, being a partner of Islam Sons, contended that the revalidation of the license of the warehouse was illegally conducted by the customs officials. He further added that this is against Section 16 of the Partnership Act 1932 as well. Adnan Motan, Advocate was the representative for the appellant, whereas Muhammad Saad Shafiq Siddiqui presented the case stating that the license had been renewed unfairly after it had expired. They argued that goods should not be deposited in the bonded warehouse, unless and until the necessary duties are paid.

This makes the ruling concerning customs regulation on bonded warehouses a step forward in matters of their compliance with law standards.
