KARACHI: The High Court of Sindh (SHC) has resolved four identical petitions, including one filed by Waresa Chemicals from Lahore. The petitions were heard by the SHC Constitutional Bench, led by Justice Agha Faisal and Justice Abdul Mobeen Lakho.
The petitions, filed in 2019 and 2020, were presented for hearing. The petitioners’ lawyer, Aqeel Ahmed Khan, along with other legal representatives, suggested that the case be closed with instructions to the Directorate General of Customs Valuation and the Chief Collector of Customs, Appraisement (South). They requested that these authorities finalize the assessment and issue a reasoned decision after hearing the petitioners.
The lawyers representing the Customs officers did not oppose this suggestion. After reviewing the case, the bench agreed to the proposal and disposed of all four petitions, following the terms requested by the petitioners.
