FBR Implements New Customs Values for Chinese Unbranded Suitcases
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has implemented new customs values for the importation of unbranded and lower-end suitcases from China. The new values have been issued by the Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi to better determine duties and taxes to be levied on such imports.
What’s New in Customs Valuation?
A fresh valuation ruling (1974 OF 2025) declares that FBR has updated the customs values of unbranded suitcases, soft as well as hard varieties, at the request of importers. This update will enhance fairness and transparency in customs operations.
Applicability of the Ruling
This new decision will be directly applied to the Chinese importation of low-quality and unbranded suitcases. Importers shall use these new values to calculate their taxes and duties.
