FBR Misses First 10-Month Tax Collection Target by Rs. 821 Billion
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not achieved its first ten-month tax collection target in the current fiscal year 2024–25. As per official figures, FBR received Rs. 9,309 billion from July to April, which is short of the Rs. 10,130 billion target by Rs. 821 billion.
The gap keeps increasing. In April 2025, the FBR received Rs. 845 billion, which was short of the target of Rs. 963 billion for the month. This implies there was an extra gap of Rs. 118 billion alone for April.
This huge gap may add to financial pressure on the government and can impact future development expenditure and economic planning.
