Major shipping lines missing more than 300 containers from Karachi Port

Freight forwarders, carriers, and concerned bodies of the All Pakistan Shipping Association have claimed that more than 300 containers belonging to major shipping lines operating in Pakistan had vanished from Karachi port.

Captain Ibrahim Zaheer Khan, the secretary general of the APSA, told the Financial Daily’s correspondent about the heist. Our members are dissatisfied with the reported piracy practice this month, which we mentioned in our ECC meeting on Thursday, and we are already having a difficult time in this place due to a protracted holdup by government authorities. Was there a plan?

We have now resolved that all trade associations will gather to discuss this issue with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) for an expedient resolution.

“There is a growing lack of security, and this is a sign of what is happening in the country and the authorities need to take action,” said APSA General Secretary Captain Ibrahim Zaheer Khan.

Customs and port authorities in Pakistan have not yet verified this. However, the shipping company will report the missing container in an FIR.
