LAHORE: Imports from India have registered growth of 45 per cent in September with imports aggregating US $ 280 million as compared with the US $193 million of the same month a year ago.
The consecutive two months growth in exports to the neighboring country was maintained when imports from the country itself also witnessed a five per cent growth of US$5m in August 2024. Imports from the country had been constantly growing since earlier in the current year.
Pakistan had banned trade with India since August 2019 but relaxed restrictions on some trades recently. Now, Pakistan is opening all import of lifesaving drugs from India.
The latest jump is the result of an upward change in their bilateral trade relations between these countries.
