FBR Transfers 15 Customs Officers to SAPT for Smooth Operations
    KARACHI:
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has transferred 15 BS-16 Appraising/Valuation Officers to Customs, Appraisemente. partmen South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT), Custom House, Karachi.

The officers who have been transferred include Malik Waleed Asif, Muhammad Saleem Mahboob, Abdul Ghaffar, Nazia Kafeel, Syed Sidiq Ullah, Shaikh Hakeemullah, Adil Javed, Tausif Ahmad, Ilyas Gichki, Arif Ali Shahzad Qureshi, Ali Raza, Asher Nazir, Atta Ur Rehman Khan, Imran Aslam, and Muhammad Noman Manzoor.

Previously, these officers were working at various directorates and collectorates of customs. They will now be working at SAPT, Custom House, Karachi. The transfer is aimed at making the operations of SAPT more streamlined and efficient in terms, of customs appraisement processes.

This is part of a larger strategy to enhance administrative performance within the department and improve the Faceless Customs Assessment (FCA) system. FCA was introduced with 44 Appraising Officers, later expanded with 16 more, and now includes these 15 officers at SAPT.

According to FBR, an official said the department is doing, this change to expedite the assessment of Goods Declarations (GDs) through the FCA system. To make the working schedule of the FCA even lighter on staff, the working schedule of the FCA is being reorganized. Earlier, FCA functioned. with. 24-hour duty and no off day, which was not amiable for officers. The FCA will now work in two shifts, which would. make it easier for the officers.

Transfers under such a system would enhance efficiency, in customs operations and also the Faceless Customs Assessment system.
