FBR Forms Committee to Initiate International Center for Tax Excellence
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has formed a four-member committee to assist in initiating and operating the International Center for Tax Excellence (ICTE). The action is by the FBR’s plan to develop tax education and expertise.
The ICTE has been established under Section 230J of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. The new center is aimed at enhancing tax practices and providing international tax training. For a smooth working of the center, the FBR has sanctioned the establishment of a Monitoring Committee.
The committee shall be headed by Muhammad Iqbal, an officer of BS-21 of Inland Revenue Service and present Member Admin/HR. Other committee members include:
Ahmad Shuja Khan, Member (Audit/CRM)
Ardsher Saleem Tariq, Member (Reforms & Modernization)
Fida Muhammad, Chief (International Taxes) Directorate General of International Tax Operations
This initiative shall serve to further improve tax acumen and facilitate improved mechanisms for international tax administration in Pakistan.
