Government Sends Green Pakistan Initiative Report to IMF

Sources at the Planning Commission said the federal government has formally submitted the Green Pakistan Initiative report to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The report highlights climate change initiatives and was made in light of the IMF’s request that it be incorporated into the review process.

The Finance Ministry directed the Planning Commission to prepare the report, which has now become part of the IMF’s agenda.

At a recent session, talks also included the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) budget and expenditure cuts for the current fiscal year. Briefings by officials from the Finance Ministry and the Planning Commission have been given, with more negotiations with the IMF delegation to occur later today.

In the days ahead, further meetings are anticipated between the Finance Ministry, the concerned departments, and the IMF to carry forward deliberations on the Green Pakistan Initiative and other fiscal issues.
