    Supreme Court Honors FBR Customs Legal Team for Landmark Achievements in Case Resolution

    Supreme Court Appreciates FBR Customs Legal Team for Significant Contributions

    ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan organized a special function on May 27, 2025, to appreciate the legal team of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Customs. The legal team was awarded a Commendation Certificate for their outstanding efforts in settling numerous complicated legal cases.

    The ceremony was witnessed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, who handed over the certificate to the FBR Customs Legal Team. The team was headed by Mr. Saeed Akram, Member for Legal & Accounting, who worked together with senior officials such as Mr. Jawaid Chaudhari, in addition to regional office team members: Ms. Zeba Azhar (Karachi), Mr. Muhammad Tahir (Islamabad), and Mr. M. Saeed Asad (Lahore). Deputy Director Rashid A. Khanzada and Preventive Officer Sajid Ali Somroo were also awarded for their dedication.

    In February 2025, the FBR Legal Team began work to dispose of a gigantic backlog of more than 1,200 cases. Defying odds, they were able to dispose of over 700 cases favorably. This feat has raised a new benchmark for legal efficiency in Pakistan.

    At the ceremony, the Chief Justice commended the team for their commitment and efficient management of cases. He noted how their efforts accelerated legal procedures and enhanced public confidence in the justice system.

    The Pakistan Prime Minister also appreciated the efforts of the team by saying that their achievement would make the country financially benefitted. The Prime Minister added that the work of the team would recover billions of rupees, which would be beneficial for the national economy.

    Experts and officials consider this award to be an important milestone for Pakistan’s legal framework. The Commendation Certificate indicates the professionalism and commitment of the FBR Customs Legal Team, serving as an example for future legal and administrative developments.
