SHC Directs FBR Chairman to Investigate Sloppily Prepared SCRAs
Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) recently entertained eight Special Customs Reference Applications (SCRAs) and was upset at the sloppily prepared legal issues involved in the cases. The court directed the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to inquire and deploy expert staff to file SCRAs in the future.
The SCRAs were presented by Pakistan Customs Directorate of Valuation Karachi. SHC bench, presided by Acting Chief Justice Mohammad Junaid Ghaffar and Justice Abdur Rahman, commented on the caliber of the questions and said that they were not appropriately worded.
The court also forwarded a copy of its order to the Appellate Tribunal, requesting them to act. This action highlights the importance of greater preparation and caution in legal pleadings for customs cases.
