    Sindh Declares May 1 as Public Holiday for Labour Day 2025​

    Sindh Announces May 1 as Public Holiday for Labour Day 2025
    A public holiday has been announced by the government of Sindh for Thursday, May 1, 2025, to mark Labour Day. Labour Day is a day that respects the labour and rights of workers.

    What Is Labour Day?
    Labour Day, or May Day, is observed across the globe on May 1 every year. In Pakistan, it has been a public holiday since 1972. The day is observed with rallies, processions, and seminars emphasizing workers’ rights and welfare. It reminds people of the need for equitable working conditions and social justice. ​

    What Will Be Closed on May 1?
    All government offices, schools, colleges, universities, and markets in Sindh will be closed on May 1. Essential services like hospitals and emergency services will, however, continue to run. ​
